Pad Thai (or Phad Thai) has been one of my preferred dishes for a while now. Apparently, it’s likewise one of the most popular Thai dishes outside Thailand so hoping this easy dish will be a welcome addition to the blog. Pad Thai is among these meals that is not that hard to veganise. Used a vibrant array of crunchy veg in version, but golden-fried tofu cubes would be great addition too. The only factor not include tofu is that just ran out.
The most difficult thing to change is the fish sauce. This common Thai condiment gives this and other Thai meals their rounded flavour. If there is a will there is a method though. You can either purchase a non fish-based fish sauce or just prepare your own by infusing soy sauce (or tamari) with a bit of seaweed and dried mushrooms. If it sounds like excessive effort and you’re only after a quick lunch, simply use a straight soy sauce rather. You’ll still be licking your lips after.
